Empowering Individuals to Economic Independence and Self-Sufficiency

This Mother’s Day, we partnered with local companies to celebrate our intrepid women. Local partners Red Rooster Overtown, Aureum Collective, Hair Cuttery, and Terry Jacobs to create gifts that were given away. We reached out to women who have gone through our program at any time in their careers, inviting them to reconnect with us for a chance at a Mother’s Day gift, and we were thrilled at the response.

We gave away one grand prize and five other prizes to women who responded to our giveaway. Most of those who responded are now working and have been in their jobs for years. Here’s more about our beautiful winners:

Daniella P., grand prize winner, has been participating in our training programs since 2003. She states, “From my experiences with Suited for Success/Dress for Success Miami, I was able to prepare for interviews and networking events.” She works for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Nicole H. came in for an interview suiting in 2021 and is so thankful to our volunteers for being so attentive and helpful. She now works as an IT Software Trainer.

Penelope M. has been participating in Suited for Success/Dress for Success Miami trainings and activities since 2012. She moved away for a while, and when she came back we were able to provide her with professional interview attire. She was offered the job, and now works as a customer service representative.

Jessenia M. said, “I received assistance from Dress for Success Miami in 2018. I didn’t have clothing suitable for work and they provided me with what I needed to start. I’m still working in the same place.” She is a disease intervention specialist with the Florida Department of Health.

Jeannine S. participated in our training and received interview attire in 2019. She states, “It was a great experience and helped me gain confidence and ideas for several job interviews I attended.”

Dishon L. has been participating in our virtual training workshops since 2021. She states, “I was very soft-spoken and shy. Since being in the program, I’m now an instructor and more confident in my abilities.”

Congratulations to all our women, and may you keep shining bright!
