Summer used to be a slow season, but that hasn’t been the case for a while now. Our clients and community members are working hard year-round, and our programs are here to support you. Our full staff is back in the office and working to serve our clients.
One thing you should know: we have the best community of support. Our closets are bursting at the seams with wonderful items for our clients’ interviews and new jobs, and we will be taking a summer break from accepting donations of business attire and accessories. In the meantime, you can always direct your support to our other programs, like the Employment Skills Training Program, Virtual Career Center, Vets for Success, or our Mobile Unit, by clicking here. We are so grateful for your generosity.

Better Practices to Take Control of Your Finances and Your Life
In a world where we have access to money, 24 hours, through ATMs, online banking and online shopping, it can be difficult to actually know how much we are spending. Without a spending plan, we sometimes feel we have no control over our finances.
Members of the Essex County (NJ) Links Chapter will outline tips and easy steps you can take right now to become mindful of your spending, develop discipline in executing your plan and create excitement about achieving your goals. It may be hard in the beginning, but knowing you are in control of your finances brings peace of mind and security that is priceless.

A Woman’s Guide to Self Advocacy at Work with Louis Vuitton
No matter where you are in your career, speaking up on your own behalf is challenging, but missing the chance to speak up for yourself can mean missing out on promotions, raises and other career milestones.
This workshop, hosted by the Human Resources & Legal teams at Louis Vuitton Americas leads a conversation on information to help you feel more confident navigating yourself in the workplace, focusing on topics specific to a woman’s experience:
- Navigating and negotiating job offers: Understanding how to evaluate job offers, critical moments for negotiation
- Evaluating and advocating your compensation: Breaking down what goes into full compensation to strategize what you can ask for
- Managing relationships in a virtual work world: Having tough conversations in a remote setting
There will be an emphasis on action steps that will allow all participants to leave with a collection of tools to make self advocacy easier.
